Sommer is the heart behind SommerTime Adventures, a dance-centered travel experience born from her deep love for Dominican culture, connection, and movement.

A lifelong dancer with over 15 years of experience, Sommer has trained, performed, and taught salsa and bachata in both social and team settings. Her journey began in college, where she fell in love with Dominican music, food, people, and language—sparking a dream to one day walk the streets of Quisqueya herself.

After finally taking a solo trip to the D.R., everything changed. From rooftop chats in Santo Domingo to dancing with locals and diving into the culture firsthand, she realized this experience was too rich to keep to herself. That calling gave birth to SommerTime Adventures—a travel experience that blends cultural immersion, dance instruction, and language connection.

Now, STA is more than just a trip. It’s a bridge between cultures. A space where travelers dance, learn, and fall in love with the roots of bachata and merengue. Where they support local instructors and communities, and return home with more than just souvenirs—they return changed.
